In the beginning...

Hi, my husband and I are starting the process of building our dream home, the "Verona", with Ryan Homes here in Richmond, VA.  This is our second go with Ryan Homes. The first time was 6 years ago, when we were building our very first home: a townhouse. I thought that process was crazy, but I now see that this is a MUCH more detailed process compared to our townhouse purchase. We chose everything in one meeting and that was that! I felt like our townhouse was done within 3 months.

We are currently living in an apartment downtown until our home is completed.  Here are a few pictures of our townhouse, which we absolutely LOVED.  we're currently renting it to a wonderful tenant, but we miss it from time to time :-(

Choosing a Floor Plan

At first, we were battling between 2 models: the Verona and the Jefferson Square. The Verona is a more practical model where all the space is utilized, while the Jefferson Square is definitely a showcase model with a beautiful staircase.  My husband finally made the decision between the 2 floor plans. So, here we are taking the journey to our "forever home" as my husband calls it.


Here is a picture of the model home.  This is elevation M, which is the same elevation we'll be getting.  The only difference is that we will have a side garage door entrance:
